Genos, the Demon Cyborg

Well, this is obviously an overdue project... More than two years over due to be exact. Now how did that happen? Damn time! Going too fast again. Hahaha! XD

I guess there were reasons why it took me this long, but recalling them gives me a massive headache. So I'm just gonna go on ahead and say that two years ago was not the best time to make an amigurumi of Genos, but now is just perfect. Yeah! Nice save! [Proceeds to pat myself on the back]

I know the last episode of One-Punch Man aired last year, but I'm hoping that it still has enough hype for everyone to appreciate this Genos plushie. He is the most adorable cyborg after all. His lack of facial expressions and normal, human emotions are just so cute. ^^

Plus, he makes an amazing modern art...

Yup! Can't argue with that. Classy, classy modern art indeed. Umm-Hmm! XD

Anyway, like Saitama and Speed of Sound Sonic I used Katie Stevens' Onceler pattern. Seriously the best to make action figure-ish amis.

*I know right? I could clearly imagine your "Wut?" expressions. Hahaha! To make things easier, Here's a diagram...
Well, I'm pretty sure that will not win "Diagram of the Year" but I hope it helps. Shishishi! XD

The hair, the hair... A thrill to make on most occasions but at times a devil of a job. Unfortunately, this was one of those times... I can't even begin to describe how frustrated I was making Geno's hair as close to the actual anime as possible. I tried doing the Claudia the Vampire technique I used on Speed... Failed! I gave the Loki de Pon! hair approach a shot... Nada! It was a nightmare of blunders at every turn. I was so close to tears and about to rip my hair out, threatening to make myself Saitama bald. Zowee! XD But on the third time I gave up and told myself I'm gonna scrap this project, sudden inspiration bonked me in the head. It was so simple and obvious it took a lot of will power not to strangle myself for not realizing it sooner. Damn! I could've saved two sheets worth of felt cloth and several tons of self-loathing. [Groan] The solution was ridiculously easy, two words: hair cap. -_-

HAIR CAP
Rnd 1: 6sc in mr (6)
Rnd 2: inc around (12)
Rnd 3: 1sc-inc (18)
*Work in rows
Row 4-11: 11sc, ch1-turn (11)
Row 12: dec, 7sc, dec, ch1-turn (9)
Row 13: dec, 5sc, dec (7)
FO, leave tail for sewing
*Stitch to the head

HAIR
*Cut short strands of Dandelion
*Use my favorite hair tutorial to attach the strands on the hair cap
*Find a photo of Genos for reference and cut the yarn as close to his style as possible
...And that's how Saitama's most loyal disciple was created. XD
It's so nice to finally see all three of them together. They should definitely start a band. Shishishi! XD
