I Like Turtles

Ever since I could remember, I've been obsessed with having a turtle for a pet. It might be the 90's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fever thing or whatever but I just freakin' loved turtles! Then it was only in my third year in college that my life long dream came true. I finally had a pet turtle and named her Hatori, my semi-aquatic soulmate. Adorable little thing. Well... After four years, maybe not so little anymore. Hehehe ^^

So when I came across this free pattern for a tiny turtle by KristieMN, I immediately went turtle-amigurumi-making crazy! Does that term even exist?

Anyway, for some reason I didn't feel like doing the striped thing and just went with a one-colored shell. So the first one I made has Deep Sky for the body and Pistachio for the head. I used Crochet Hook - F5 (3.75 mm).
I thought it turned out really cute and decided to make him a missus turtle. I made her shell in Bubblegum with the same body color as Mr. Turtle.
Ah such a cute couple. ^^ But wait! I didn't stop there... I made them a baby. Of course it wouldn't be a baby if it's as big as its parents, so I adjusted the pattern from tiny to tiny-er. Hehehe. With the same body color, I made the shell in Periwinkle.
Aww... How sweet. A happy, tiny turtle family.
So, was I done with my turtle craze? Nope! Not even close. Hahaha!

I loved the tiny-er turtle pattern so much that I made seven more with each shell corresponding to the colors of the rainbow... Yah, rainbow turtles. ^^ But instead of having one turtle in indigo, I opted to make its shell in pink. Well, I just felt the color was too close to violet and that it wouldn't really stand out.
