My eldest brother's biggest fear is SNAKES! Long ones, short ones, venomous, not venomous... As long as it's identified as a snake he'll be running and screaming. So being the brutal and merciless tease that I am, whenever we email each other I always hide pictures of snakes at the end of my thread. Of course he hates me every time. Hahaha! XD

With that said, I thought to make my big brother a special gift for his birthday. What do you think I made for him? Yup! You guessed it... His very own ssssssmashing SNAKE gurumi. Genius? I know. ^.^

I love pranking my eldest brother, but I have no intention of sending him to the hospital with a heart attack so I'm not gonna crochet a life-like snake. O_O Instead I'm gonna make this cute, little amigurumi by Natalia Gruhina.

(Click for Pattern)
This is in Russian and since I was pressed for time (As usual -_-), I didn't check anymore whether this was translated in English. It's a pattern posted in 2013 so it's quite possible that someone already did. If anyone knows just let me know and I'll update this post. ^^

As a big Harry Potter fan (Potterhead), I thought it would be appropriate to name this after Hogwart's most hostile and fiendish house: Slytherin. Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not fangirling over Draco Malfoy. I'm as loyal to Gryffindor as any Fred and George Weasley fanatic. But you gotta admit, Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy? Nothing could be more sexy. Ooh! Those blond locks are just divine. XD

Before I gave this snakey-snake gift to my brother, I hyped him up first with a story of me going to a pet store and finding him the most suitable pet. That it was odd the shop owner gave me a very large discount and wanted to get rid of the thing ASAP. Needless to say, when I had his eyes closed and put Linus on his palmed-up hands... He screamed like a girl. Man! That was priceless. It was just too bad though that I didn't get my camera out to record the whole thing. Most awesome birthday gift eva!!! ^^
Next on my list... My second eldest brother. Mwahahaha!!! OvO

Chris Evan's birthday was last Jun. 13 and I... Missed it. [Sob!]

Umm... Could you give me a sec?

Well, I suppose sacrifices must be made. I had a deadline to finish a very important documentary so I was forced to set aside this cutie-patootie fan project. Sigh!

Really such a shame and I thought I did a great job with it... He turned out so cute! Those chubby-wubby wegs, big blue eyes, and teeny tiny shield. Damn! He destroys my soul with cuteness. But alas! Even with a job well done I have missed my sworn deadline. Oh dear... Here come the tears again.
I'm the worst Captain America fan and he's like my most fave Avenger eva!!! Ugh! Why time, Why? Why you do this to me? ToT

And I've actually planned this for almost a year... I was like, "I'm gonna make a Captain America ami, tag Chris Evans then we'll walk into the sunset, kiss, get married, have our own little Captain Americas and Duchess Galas and... And!" Wait! Was that out loud?

Ahem! Anyway... -O_O- What's done is done and the next best thing now is to put up the pattern. It's basically the same as my mirmo version of Loki, but of course with adjustments here and there. ^^

*Okay, this is the tricky part... The bangs. If you counted correctly then your last stitch should land on the right side of the hair cap
* From there, you will crochet across going to the left. In other words, starting from the bottom of the supposed sideburn, going up and across the hairline, then down the other sideburn. Is that clear? [Cricket Sound] Sigh! Even I'm confused with it. Okay, just bare with this diagram then.
Row 18: 6sc, FLO [2sc, 1hdc, 2dc, 3tr, 2dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 1sl, 1sc, 1hdc, 3dc, 1dc, 1sc], 6sc (32)

*Stitch on the head

First time I crocheted the bangs and thought it turned it okay... Not bad for a first try, yah? It's a breath of fresh hair from my usual hair attaching techniques. I think I'll use this more often. ^^

I'm still not sure whether to tag Chris Evans with this oh-so-late birthday gift. I suppose he wouldn't mind... What do you guys think? To tag or not to tag? That is the question! Hahaha!  XD
Aaw! The snookums!!! XD

UPDATE: I just tweeted Chris Evans and hopefully he liked it.  Cross fingers!!! x(>.<)x

BLEEP! BLEEP! BLEEP!

For the past few days I've been getting comments and messages that my patterns, which I give away for free, are being sold all over Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravelry.

I don't know if her name is real, but the woman who's been stealing my patterns and selling it on the internet goes by the name Maria Telpuk (AKA mtelpuk). I tried to Google the name but it says she's a model/playboy bunny/porn star. If I wasn't furious I'd probably find that a tad hilarious, but unfortunately I'm a little pissed.
Seriously??? What the junk??? I pour my heart and soul in making these patterns for it to only get stolen? I'm already giving it for free and letting anyone sell the finished product as long as I get acknowledged for the pattern, linking it back to my blog. What more could anyone want? How greedy can a person get? This is ridiculous and pathetic.

If there's anyone who should have the right to profit from these patterns, it should be me! But no, I opted to give it for free. I don't make these amigurumis to earn money, I make them just because I love doing it. I love how these soft toys make someone important to me happy... My heart just bursts whenever I see their faces light up and get all excited.
Also, this is like some sort of thank you for those that posted their patterns for free when I was just learning many years ago. If it weren't for those free patterns, I would never have been able to hone my skills and make up my own ami designs. I would've stuck to making perfect chains... Yards and yards of useless chains. Imagine that? So this is like my way of giving back... Now that I could make my own pattern (Occasionally adopting bases. Wink! Wink!), it just seems right to return the favor for other aspiring crocheters.

Maybe someday I'd make a business out of this, but for now... I'm just happy to share.

So please! I beg of you! Do not sell my patterns... Sell the amigurumis you make out of it, you have my blessing. Just pleeeeease acknowledge me as the creator of the pattern and link it to my blog. I'm not asking much, it's just a very simple request.

If you find my patterns for sale, do not buy them... It's a scam. They're free for everyone who wants to make amigurumis. Free! Free! Freeeeeee! >o<

One last thing... I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone that notified me about my pattern being stolen and sold mercilessly. It warms my heart to know that a lot of people cared. Thank you! Thank you soooooooooooo much!!!
I know I've been in hiatus for a while and not posting any new patterns. My sched is just that crazy. So hopefully I could finish my projects soon... I have a lot of amis in store.

With that said... I bid you all a good day or a goodnight, depending on wherever you are in the world. Let us all hope that this display of mediocre thievery and idiotic attempt for profit will be put to an end.

CIAO! MES AMIS!!! -^.^-
