Ever since I saw Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy II: the Golden Army, I've been madly in love with the exiled, elven warrior Prince Nuada... His golden straight hair, buffed built, British-Elven accent, awesome fighting skills... He's such a dream.

Anyway, in the movie he rather had an unfortunate ending and I thought he didn't deserve such fate. So I decided to write him a fanfic where he has a more umm... Extended and colorful life. What do I mean by that? Create him a girlfriend of course! Hahaha! ^^

I already figured out most of the story line but I'm just too lazy to write it all down. No worries I'll get on it... Eventually. ^^ But what I do have is the profile of the human girl that would change his heart about hating mankind.

Her name is Sarah Madison, a mysterious human girl with the ability to cast spells and create magical potions; a talent she acquired from her apprenticeship with an ancient and powerful sorcerer. She also has a pet toothfairy named Chomps and a black nemean lion named Lyra.  

But what's really special about her is that she's immortal... Cursed to walk upon the earth forever after she traded her mortality for her beloved brother's life. Of course, there's a rather dark back story to that but for now I have this sketches of her...

Monster Hunter Buddies

My little brother's a big fan of the game Monster Hunter and he just loves playing it so much. He like goes into nirvana when he gets his hand on the PSP. Hahaha! ^^

So he asked me to make him a key chain sized Poogie in watermelon costume which he said he will attach on his PSP. Nerd turd! Hahaha! I love him. ^^ Okay no problem... I Just need the Ideal Sphere pattern by Emily Premise-Conclusion.

As a umm... Semi-semi beginner, I advise you to always have this around, anytime, anywhere 'coz it's the most helpful thing when making amigurumis. It's the best pattern to make perfect heads or reference for making other shapes. Seriously awesome. ^^

*Initially I used the #57 - Caterpillar and #54 - Lettuce yarn for the watermelon suit but it wasn't accurate to the actual Poogie. So instead of Caterpillar, use #100 - Raven with Lettuce. ^^

Sorry it already looks beaten up and a bit tattered, I wasn't able to take pictures when I made it. I'm really not the photographing kind. Hehehe  

After I finished Poogie, my little brother asked me again to make him a monster hunter key chain and this time of the cat, Melynx. Of course this was more of a challenge since it had more complicated parts, but being such a good sister, I gave it a shot anyway. So I made a prototype and yeah... That didn't go so well. It was a CAT-astrophe! Hahaha! Get it? CAT-astrophe? I mean... I... Never mind! -_- It was actually so bad that whenever I see it I could hear its tiny, meowy voice saying "Please... Kill me. Kill me now!". Yikes!  

Anyway, it took me more than six months to find the perfect pattern but thank goodness I did... A tiny cat key chain pattern by Pierrot Gosyo with a bonus pouch or cozy pattern for naked cellphones. How thoughtful. ^^

Of course I tweaked it a bit to make it look like Melynx and I'd say I delivered. Couldn't be happier with the result... Except maybe I forgot to write it all down. Yup! I got too excited and went on a crocheting frenzy. It was already too late when I realized it. Humm-dumm... -_- Sigh! C'est la vie. Well, at least I took pictures. Hehehe! ^^

Tee-hee! ^^ My little brother still loved it nonetheless and just attached it to his bag since it's too big for the PSP. Nerd turd! Hahaha! ^^

Stitch

I recently completed my Susan Bates Silvalume edition crochet hooks (All 14 of them) and it's all thanks to a dear friend who buys them for me whenever he flies to the U.S. So loved it! The hooks were perfect. I know people say that it's the skill and not the tools that make the perfect craft but seriously... Sometimes it actually does. Hahaha! ^^

So how do I show my appreciation for the effort? Make him his very own Stitch of course! Well, he used to live in Hawaii with his family so... Yah! Really appropriate.

Lucky me, Shannen C has the perfect pattern and she's giving it away for free on Ravelry. You really gotta love people like her. Umm-hmm! ^^

Like my TarePanda, I forgot to take pictures before handing it to my friend as a gift. Damn! Why am I slow on these things??? -_- Really frustrating. Anyway, he really liked it and said it was well made. Yey for me. Hehehe!

While making Stitch, my mom requested that I also make her one since she thought it looked so sweet and cute. She really liked how I made the ears, "They're perfect." She said. D'awww! Stop it you. Hahaha! ^^

So last mother's day I granted her wish and made her her own Stitch. Of course I changed the colors a bit so that hers wouldn't be the same with the one I gave out.

There are a few things that I changed... One is as you can see on the list of materials, I used a slightly bigger hook. Well, I wanted a bigger Stitch. ^^ Two, you'll notice the belly patch was crocheted differently... I crocheted it in rows not rounds. The first Stitch I made had a crooked belly patch and I don't know if I followed the pattern wrong or there's really a mistake but no matter what I do, it still ends up the same... Crooked as Captain Hook's hook. So with this second one I figured if doing it in rounds make it crooked, I might as well make a separate belly patch in rows. Finally, I didn't anymore crocheted the white part of the eyes. Well, for some reason it didn't look right. So I just cut out two tiny circles on my white felt and glued the bad boys on. Hehehe! ^^

Lennon Giraffe

So I saw this picture while browsing for my next project and my immediate reaction was... Want!!! ^^ I loved the pastel colors, how the spots were replaced by flowers and it's mane and tail in different shades. Next to cute, I thought it was really genius. Who would've thought to make a flower power hippie giraffe? I slow clap to your greatness oh creator of this master piece. ^^

Too bad though that it's on Etsy, and if it's on Etsy it's not free. Sigh! Another tag priced majestic pattern. -_-

Of course I felt bad, but after a moment something just clicked in my brain and the next thing I knew I was doing the Mr. Burns expression; rubbing my hands together while saying "Excellent". A diabolical evil plan that involves yarn.  How evil!!! Hahaha!

So with the giraffe pattern written by Marike van Loo and simple flower pattern by Jennifer Dickerson, I created my own flower power hippie giraffe and named him Lennon. Imagine all the gurumis. Yeah! ^^

I used the one round flowers pattern since for me it looked closest to the ones in the Baby Giraffe Toy. But if you don't feel like it, other flower patterns will do. Actually, there's no limit to how you make your giraffe... Change it's color, attach rainbows or stars, curl the mane, you can even put wings... Do whatever you think makes you happy. ^^

Green with Envy

Always been a fan of Full Metal Alchemist (FMA). But when my brother introduced me to Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood... I just lost my mind. Hahaha! I went doubly crazy for Roy Mustang. Yes, the scene where he killed Lust was the most epic scene ever. I really loved the abs- I mean the fight scene. I said fight scene. *v* 

But other than Roy Mustang, I fell in love with another character... Not just because he's hot- I mean brave. Damn it! I meant brave! Yoinks *v* Okay, it's Envy. 

Well, his monster form did creep me out a bit but his weak form made me "D'awwww!". He looked like an adorable tiny, green lizard with eight legs, small horns, and big, big eyes. I just can't get enough of the cuteness. The feels... Hehehe!    

After finishing all 60 plus episodes of FMA Brotherhood, I decided to make an Envy amigurumi. He's just too cute not to make one!

So this time I wrote my own pattern without any reference. I just spontaneously jotted down the rounds and stuff. Well, no one has exactly done any amigurumi of his tiny weird form so you can't really find a pattern on the internet... There's this one amigurumi though but I didn't like how it looked. So if I can't get one, I make one!!! ^^

Kaimon

Every now and then I would do an  inventory of my crochet supplies like yarn, felts, needles and what not... Recently, I found out that I've been hoarding a lot of green yarn. As in I accumulated quite a pile and have no idea where it came from. Hmm... I guess my plus 1 rule kinda backfired. Plus 1 rule? It means I buy an additional skein of yarn for every color that I need. So If I'm making an amigurumi and I need 4 skeins of blue or whatever color, I'd buy 4 plus 1. I just seriously don't like running out of yarn. Period. ^^

So what to do with all the green yarn? Make a dinosaur of course! 

I found this perfect pattern which I downloaded before and forgot until this green yarn hoarding dilemma. It's lucky that I actually remembered 'coz otherwise I'd still be brooding over what to do with all these greens. Before Loki and the "Hiddles", I kinda disliked the color. Hehehe!
     

DINOSAUR

So I have 6 to 8 different shades of green on my pile... If I make a dinosaur with one shade, chances are I'd ran out of yarn, be left with an unfinished amigurumi and still have these green yarns to glare at. Yikes! >.< Solution... Why not take all the shades and make a striped dinosaur? Genius? What else would you call it. Hahaha! ^^
